Lutron Designer is a professional Windows-based tool used to design, program, and commission Lutron lighting and shading control systems, primarily HomeWorks QSX and RadioRA 3. Built for certified installers and integrators, it streamlines everything from early project planning to final on-site activation, ensuring reliable performance and clean, well-documented installations.

Key capabilities:

  • System design: Create areas and zones, define scenes, and lay out keypads, dimmers, switches, and shades across Clear Connect RF and wired links.
  • Programming and logic: Configure keypad assignments, shade groups, timeclock events, and occupancy/daylight sensor behavior.
  • Validation and limits: Automatically check link topologies, device counts, and power supplies to catch issues before commissioning.
  • Commissioning: Address devices, push firmware updates, and activate systems over the network for smooth handover.
  • Documentation: Generate bills of materials, load schedules, wiring and engraving reports for submittals and recordkeeping.
  • Integration readiness: Prepare third-party integration points for AV systems, voice assistants, and other smart-home platforms.
